18 Naxalites surrendered in Andra pradesh

18 Naxals surrendered

KHAMMAM: Eighteen naxalites of different Left wing extremist groups operating in Khammam district surrendered before the Superintendent of Police Rajeev Kumar Meena here on Saturday. They included four members of the CPI (Maoist).
Joga Rambabu alias Bharat and Battu Raghu alias Ravi, both members of the Sudhakar dalam of the CPI (Maoist), came out of the party and decided to join the main stream. So was the case with Uke Rama Rao alias Ranadheer and Maddireddy Ranadheer Reddy, who had been in the fold of the Maoist dalams operating in Wajeedu and Manuguru areas respectively.
Two members of the CPI (ML-Janashakti) Thogaru Kiran and Jadi Ananda Rao, both deputy dalam commanders, surrendered before the police due to ill health.
Two woman activists of the CPI (ML Praja Pratighatana) Thati Lakshmi and Ammula Padma surrendered in the day along with six other members of the party. They said that they were fed up as the party operations were not in line with its ideology.
Mukti Ramadevi, another woman naxalite of the CPI (ML Pratighatana) was among those who surrendered. The SP assured them of steps for implementing the rehabilitation package. He said that many of the surrendered naxalites had been associated with the activities of the extremist groups for quite some time in the district.
