Three Maoists killed in Chhattisgarh

Three Maoist guerrillas were killed in two separate gun battles in Chhattisgarh Wednesday, police said.
'Two senior cadres of the (outlawed) Communist Party of India-Maoist were shot dead in a forested stretch of Bijapur (in Bastar), near the Andhra Pradesh border, in an hour-long encounter (gun battle) Wednesday afternoon,' Girdhari Nayak, Inspector General (Maoist operations), told IANS on the telephone.
Police recovered some self-loading rifles and other weapons from the site, located nearly 520 km south of here, he added.
Police gunned down a Maoist rebel in another shootout in Dantewada district of Bastar region late Wednesday afternoon.
