Maoists free abducted officials
Keonjhar: The Maoists on Wednesday released two officials of a construction company who were earlier abducted by them from the camp of a construction company under Harichandanpur police station on Monday.According to reports, the two abducted officials, Amit Kumar, supervisor and his colleague Deban Singh of Jaya Bharat Construction Company were released. The company is presently engaged in the construction of a railway over-bridge.
Security forces clear road blockade
Malkangiri: The security forces on Wednesday cleared the road blockade by the Leftwing ultras near Telrai under MV-126 about 50 kilometers from here.The Maoists had blocked the Motu-Malkangiri road by cutting trees and also put leaflets and posters in protest against the death of CPI (Maoist) commandant Chandramauli and his wife Devanna, who were gunned down by the Andhra Pradesh Police in 2006. Besides, the left wing ultras also blocked the Kalimela road.
According to Malkangiri SP Himansu Lal, the ultras had blocked the roads early in morning.Stating that the security forces have cleared the road, he said that there were no reports of any untoward incident.
