Better warfare to counter Naxals: DGP

Jeypore : Director General of Police (DGP) Amarananda Pattanayak has asked senior police officials of Naxal-affected districts to expedite the police modernisation process to counter Naxal menace. The DGP, who was on a three-day tour of Koraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada districts to review the law and order situation, said the State Government would initiate steps to provide modern warfare and vehicles to the police force of these districts. The DGP also discussed the problems being faced by, the cops.Elaborate security arrangements had been made for his visit, which was kept under wraps. Among others, IG, Operations H.K Hansda, DIG S.K. Nath, Koraput SP Arun Bothra and Malkangiri SP Himansu Lai accompanied him.
